The purpose of this research study is to determine if a brief behavioral intervention administered via mobile phone text messages and a mobile app impact common indicators of sleep and teamwork in EMS.

Investigators seek to FIRST, enroll multiple and diverse EMS agencies all across the United States, and SECOND, enroll individual EMS clinicians within these EMS organizations to participate in this research project.

Participation is completely voluntary. We will ask EMS organizations who agree to participate in this study to help us recruit and enroll up to 15 EMS clinicians within their organizations. The EMS clinicians who agree to participate will be asked to:

1. answer screening/eligibility questions and then watch a brief consent video and agree to participate before actually participating;

2. over the 6-month study period, participants will periodically answer surveys using the SaFTiE mobile app and respond to text-messages that ask about sleep or teamwork.

All participants will receive $100 dollars total over the 6-month study period. In addition, we will mail participants numerous novelty items each month. These items include a water bottle, flashlight, specialty engraved challenge coin, exclusive EMS shoulder patches, wallet sized reference guides for critically ill EMS patients, specialty engraved ballpoint pens. AND… we will reimburse you for smartphone data and text message related expenses. We will send you $50 at month 3 and another $50 at month 6 for smartphone data and text message related expenses.
